BCCDA Ethics and Theories courses will provide you with essential foundations needed by career development practitioners working in a wide range of contexts.  Review and learn to apply traditional, contemporary, and emerging career development theories. Gain a thorough understanding of the Canadian Standards & Guidelines Code (CSG) of Ethics for Career Development Practitioners and practice using the CSG Ethical Decision-Making Model to solve common ethical dilemmas.

Ethics and Theories Courses are a mandatory requirement for obtaining your Certified Career Development Practioner (CCDP) Certification.

1.   Ethics Course (10 hours)

WHEN:  March 7th- March 14th 2024

WHERE: ZOOM (Link will be provided closer to the date)

METHOD: Live participation via Zoom, group work, and one final assignment

Pre-reading/preparation for the course:  30-60 mins (emailed 1 week prior)

Zoom Sessions:

March 7th- 9:00 am - 11:30 and 12:30 to 2:00 pm 

March 8th - 9:00 am - 11:00 

Online Participation via LinkedIn: 1-2 hours (To be completed by Mar 14, 2024)

Quiz and Final Assignment: Approx 2 hours (To be completed by Mar 14, 2024)

2.) Theories Course (20 hours)

WHEN:  March 22nd -  March 29th 2024

Requirements for Courses:-

  • Have Zoom (free version) downloaded before the course

  • Have a reliable and fast enough internet connection to run Zoom (1-5 Mbps is recommended)
